Television is a beneficial and effective tool to accompany children throughout their most important years, when used correctly.  Al-Jazeera Children's Channel(JCC) is a new pan-Arab edutainment television channel, dedicated to the youth and families.  This channel sprung from the vision of HH Sheikha Mozah bint Naser Al Missned, Chairperson for Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, with the mission to offer the children of the Arab world a television channel which promotes knowledge and mutual understanding between the children living inside the Arab World and outside. 

This channel uses a level of language accessible for all its viewers and particularly adapted to a young audience.  Al Jazeera Children's Channel is venturing into a new field of television for children;  the experience of other childrens' networks is based heavily on imported content which is usually dubbed, whereas JCC is offering many in-house productions and magazines which are exclusively produced for the channel, along with the first debate show for children in the Arab world.  The "edutainment" concept is one which allows the child to learn while being entertained, hence our slogan, "Learn to see".
